Where is Interlaken
Interlaken http://www.interlaken.ch/en/discover-interlaken.html is situated in the heart of Switzerland, 70 km south-east of the capital Berne. It is a small town which lies between two alpine lakes, the lake of Thun and the lake of Brienz and surrounded by mountains, the most famous ones being Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

How to get to Interlaken from Zurich Airport (ZRH):
There are trains from the airport to Interlaken-West or Interlaken East with one change in Bern every half hour (at xx:13 and xx.40). Traveling time: approx. 2h 10m.
Recommendation: Buy a single ticket from Zurich Airport to Interlaken.

How to get to Interlaken from Geneva Airport (GVA):
There are trains from the airport to Interlaken-West or Interlaken East every half hour (at xx:53 and xx.23) with two change in Geneva and Bern. Travel ling time: approx. 3 hours.
Recommendation: Buy a single ticket from Geneva Airport to Interlaken.

Workshop venue
The workshop will take place at the Congress Centre Kursaal in Interlaken, Strandbadstrasse 44 http://www.congress-interlaken.ch/en/home.html . It is situated in the middle of town. All suggested hotels are within a 15 minute walk of the workshop location.
Weather
February is the coldest season in Switzerland, with an average temperature of 1° C (33 F). Interlaken is in the Swiss Alps, so snow and temperatures below 0° are very likely: be sure to bring warm clothes.
Tipping
Gratuity for services provided is already included in hotels, restaurants and taxi bills. For special services a small tip is of course welcome.

Banks/money exchange/credit cards
Interlaken has many banks able to exchange money. At both train stations of Interlaken (West and East), money can also be exchanged. Hotels also exchange money, but usually at higher rates. Credit cards (Visa, Master/Eurocard, and Amercian Express) are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.

Exchange offices at the stations are open until 8 pm.
